Even an 18-Year Old Can Play Roulette
Your first association of the word casino is a picture of a roulette wheel or as it otherwise known as the black, red and white wheel of fortune. There is no classic casino without a roulette wheel.
In fact the roulette table is so recognizable a gambling fixture that characterizes a place as a casino and not just a gambling parlor.
Roulette is fun and easy. The wheel is marked with numbers 1 to 36 and the digits zero and double zero on the side of the board. Each number is colored red and black while the one zero and double zeros are in green.
Color and number combinations offer betting choices. Therefore, your bet can be placed on particular numbers or groups of numbers.
Roulette chips differ from regular casino chips. Each player receives a different stack of colored chips. The player then decides the value of the chip when they are bought. While bets are placed by players the dealer spins the roulette ball counterclockwise if the spinning wheel is moving clockwise.
Bets can be placed until the dealer shouts "no more bets" as the ball starts to drop.
When the ball falls into a numbered space on the wheel, the dealer puts a piece of card or plastic marker as a reminder to him and for the others on what was the winning number. He then pays the winner.
Even bets are in red or black, odd or even, Nos. 1 to 18 or 19 to 36 pay one to one, meaning one chip wins one only.
Dozen or section bets-- 2 to 1 pays off on No. 1 through 12. Same for second and third dozen.
Single number bets pay 35 to 1, including "0" and "00".
Two number or split bets--17 to 1-- pays off on any two adjoining numbers; Three Number Bets--11 to 1 pays off on any three numbers across the layout.
Four Number or corner bets--8 to 1 pays off on any four numbers forming the corner; Six Number bets--5 to 1 pays off on any of the six numbers in the two streets; Column bets--2 to 1 pays off on any number in the horizontal column.
You see. So any adult person can place a bet - it's simply choosing your bet and waiting for the ball to drop. You don't have to follow game rules. Maybe you have to observe the dress code of the casino but nothing more.
