The Different Roulette Bets Offered in the Game
There are many kinds of roulette bets that a player can make in the game. All of these roulette bets have the same house edge of 5.26% except for one, and that is the Five Number Bet, which has a higher house edge of 7.89%.
There are two roulette bets categories - Outside Bets and Inside Bets.
The following roulette bets fall under the Outside Bets category:
Red or Black - This roulette bet has the pay off of one for one. It is a bet of whether the ball will fall into a red or black slot.
Odd or Even - This roulette bet has even odds to pay off. You are betting if the ball will fall in an even number or an odd number. The numbers zero and double zero is neither even nor odd.
High or Low - The high bet is betting that the ball will fall into the numbers 19 through 36. The low bet is to bet on the numbers one through 18. These roulette bets are also known as the bets for the first eighteen and the last eighteen. The payouts on these bets have even odds.
Dozens - This roulette bet allows you to bet on sets of 12 numbers and the pay off is at two to one. The sets of numbers are one through 12, 13 through 24, and 25 through 36.
The following roulette bets fall under the Inside Bets category:
Single Number - This roulette bet lets you bet on a single number and it has the highest pay off of 35 to one.
Split - A roulette bet that lets you bet on two numbers and has the pay off of 17 to one. The bet must be placed on the line in between the two numbers.
Street - This is a roulette bet that is placed on three numbers and has the pay off of 11 to one. Place your chips on the line located at the left side of the row of three numbers.
Corner - It's the roulette bet for four number with the pay off of eight to one. You need to place your chips at the line intersecting the four numbers to bet on.
Five Number Bet - This is a roulette bet that only exists on the American roulette wheel. It's a bet on the five numbers consisting of zero, double zero, one, two, and three. The bet has a six to one pay off with a high house edge of 7.89%.
Double Street - A roulette bet on six numbers with the pay off of five to one. Place the bet at the intersecting line at the end of two rows of three numbers.
